Wilcox Arcade is Back in the Route Biz!

Long time, no see!

I’m proud to announce that — after a lengthy hiatus I worried would never end — Wilcox Arcade is officially back in the route business.

What does mean? Chiefly, my intention is to place arcade games in various business across western Kentucky on a revenue-share basis, just like I did from 2019 to 2021.

It’s not just an intention either: I landed my first account in three years at the Trends N Treasures Merchants Mall in Murray, Kentucky. Starting Saturday, April 13th, you’ll be able to play Skycurser and Fun-E-Ball by right by the entrance. Alien Vs. Predator is soon to follow, at least once my buddy Adam Lamb has finished building the cabinet.

This deal is a little different than those I’ve cracked before in that I’ll be leasing the space for a small fee instead of splitting the quarters in the cash boxes. I personally have no issue with this, seeing as how it’ll force me to think outside the box to ensure profitability.

Considering how savvy my day job has made me when it comes to commercials, I won’t be “playing around” with promotions this time. I’ve already prepared a suite of materials I’ll disseminate to generate awareness within the community (see example below).

Plus, I’m thinking it’s time to reposition this here blog purely as an advertisement my route. I’m kind of over the “news grind,” hence why I don’t even use my journalism degree now.

That’s all the information I can provide for the time being – because, as established earlier, this development is still impending – but I absolutely had to get it off my chest. Forgetting my fondness for the coin-op industry for so long was legitimately one of the dumbest things I’ve ever done. Live and learn?

As always, I’m on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tumblr, and YouTube via @wilcoxarcade. I plan to populate each respective social media channel with legitimate marketing messages going forward, as opposed to, you know, complaining about Cruis’n Blast or whatever.

My fiancée Jordan Harrell, whom I consider an instrumental cohort in this enterprise, has also started a TikTok page for me. I’m entrusting her to the keys to that particular vehicle, because even though I don’t much care for engaging with Chinese spyware, I can’t deny how explosive it’s been over the past few years.

With that, y’all should be more or less up to speed with what I’m doing. I’ll be sure to check in again next week to update you on my progress. I owe Jason at Trends N Treasures $60 for the space anyway….

See ya ‘round, ya sweaty nerds!
