Electronic Capsule Toy Coming to Know-a-Guy (via Wilcox Arcade)

I’m ready to announced the next addition to the Wilcox Arcade route — which, possibly to your surprise, isn’t even a video game.
Allow me to explain: In the coming weeks, I’ll place an electronic sticker and capsule toy machine at Know-a-Guy in Murray, Kentucky. I intend to stock it with Pokémon trading cards, Dragon Ball Z stickers, and Rick & Morty keychains.
While my reveal might seem milquetoast to some onlookers, to me, this coin-operated device marks a massive milestone in the history of my route. I had been waiting months to finally afford the future of bulk vending technology, so I’m pretty dang proud I’ll soon be able to offer it at what is currently my premier location.
I’ve been hooked on electronic bulk vending machines ever since I acquired a smaller capsule toy vendor for Know-a-Guy in June of this year. Something about future-proofing myself feels good. Oh yeah, I know why: It’s because, even if the whole world abandons quarters, we’ll still be able to partake in “little treats” with a dollar bill or our debit cards. (Sorry to borrow that rotten millennial phrase…but I couldn’t think of a more apt way to say it.)
Yes, video games — particularly of the indie variety — are my bread and butter and, expectedly, continue to serve as the driving passion behind what I do. But I’ll be honest: I like bulk vending almost as much. Those tiny transactions could very well inject a lot of joy in someone’s day, an honor that is not at all lost on me.
Plus, looking at the scope of coin-operated products offered on the market at large, I’ll always take a bulk vending machine over a crane game, considering the former has no yucky stigma attached to it. There’s nothing unfair about selling somebody a handful of hard candy for $0.50.
This is simply the coolest way I’ve been able to offer small products thus far, and I’m hopeful the customers of Know-a-Guy will take to it quickly. Switch ‘N’ Shoot, as we’ve all seen, has been a pretty respectable success amid western Kentucky, but I wouldn’t mind propping it up with something that could be more broadly appealing.
And you’d best believe this won’t be the last electronic bulk vending machine I’ll buy. When it’s all said and done, I plan to place three to four video games at Know-a-Guy, alongside four to five bulk vending machines. Basically, I want to offer a little something for everybody in Murray.
Beyond that, I’m already eyeing an electronic capsule toy machine just like the one I already have at Know-a-Guy to instead set at Epic Gamers in Fulton, Kentucky. (Since I regrettably haven’t yet shared that news on my blog…let it be known that I’ve already nailed down the next location dotting the Wilcox Arcade route.)
Long story short, there’s a lot happening with Wilcox Arcade — so make sure you try this awesome electronic sticker and capsule toy machine as soon as it drops at Know-a-Guy in Murray, Kentucky. I’m currently shooting for the end of September.
