Switch ‘N’ Shoot is Literally a Nickel to Play Right Now

If you ever thought the Wilcox Arcade route was some “get rich quick” scheme for me…well, I don’t think there’s ever been more conclusive proof to the contrary.
This week only, I’m offering a pretty nuts discount on the indie arcade game Switch ‘N’ Shoot to commemorate its first full year of availability at Know-a-Guy in Murray, Kentucky — that being a whopping 20 percent off.
Switch ‘N’ Shoot usually costs only a quarter per credit, which I don’t think anyone would find particularly expensive, though I’m all about “upping the ante.” Toward that end, I’ve temporarily replaced the quarter mech in the coin door with one that can accept literal nickels.
You heard shirt: Each credit on Switch ‘N’ Shoot will come out to a paltry 5 cents during this one-year anniversary promotion.
Why would I do something so bonkers? Well, the truth is that I simply want people to become fans of Switch ‘N’ Shoot, regardless of my profits. Perhaps this could be the perfect opportunity for someone to truly learn the game — to become so comfortable with it that they would then be willing to play it more often at its regular price point.
I’m acutely interested in increasing awareness of indie arcade games, Switch ‘N’ Shoot included. I believe very strongly that these niche options are worth your time and money. For that reason, I’m more than okay with briefly slashing the price, so long as it gets eyes on the game.
As far as why I specifically picked a nickel as the discounted sum — that, admittedly, is a bit of a callback to the past, even though my modern-day business is hardly driven by nostalgia. (Don’t call me retro.) The “Nickelcade” concept, while not as prolific as it once was, at least provided me with a blueprint for charging anything less than 25 cents.
It’s not lost on me either that things are tough for folks right now, financially speaking. Maybe, through the power of Switch ‘N’ Shoot, Wilcox Arcade could be the sole reason anyone could actually afford to have a little fun right now.
Heck, I’m tickled pink that people will be able to partake in Switch ‘N’ Shoot using no more than their typical pocket change. You could walk right over from that register at Know-a-Guy, in fact, to empty said pockets into one of the finest indie arcade games known to man.
The way I see it, there’s genuinely no excuse not to try Switch ‘N’ Shoot anymore. Even if the game can be challenging to understand on your first go-around, the barrier to entry is now so absurdly trivial that practicing to the point of success would surely require no more than a dollar of your hard-earned income.
One button, one nickel — it all seems so easy to me. Despite being of modern origin, Switch ‘N’ Shoot has already become one of those timeless experiences that everyone should enjoy. I’d wager you’ll endeavor to be a part of that, too.
With all that in mind, please consider playing Switch ‘N’ Shoot during its one-year anniversary this week. I promise you won’t regret giving me a nickel…or 20.
