The All-Day Switch ‘N’ Shoot Tournament Just Got Bigger

ree

In the waning days before my all-day Switch ‘N’ Shoot tournament, I’ve found ways to “up the ante” to better incentivize your attendance.

Here’s the recap: On Saturday, August 2nd, you can submit any score you may earn on my Switch ‘N’ Shoot arcade game to be in the running for several awesome prizes. (You won’t even need to arrive at Know-a-Guy in Murray, Kentucky — the venue where the cabinet is located — at any specific time; simply come and go as you please.)

I had at first planned to grant each of the top five players one CD copy of “Monster Tape Zero” by Groovy Kaiju. Additionally, the No. 1 player would receive a Wilcox Arcade flying disc and a Wilcox Arcade can cooler; the No. 2 player would receive a Wilcox Arcade drawstring bag; and the No. 3 player would receive a Wilcox Arcade keychain.

While all these promises remain true, so does my intent to up the ante — which is why the first-place spoils now include a Wilcox Arcade pin, second place includes a Wilcox Arcade magnet, and third place includes a Wilcox Arcade sticker.

The best part? The first-place player will also receive a genuine Switch ‘N’ Shoot arcade cabinet marquee, provided by DSM Arcade. That’s something I’d want to put on my wall if I were you.

I just couldn’t help myself: I want this event to be big, and I hope these extra prizes will help with that. It’s the same reason I’ve asked a couple of buddies to don Wilcox Arcade shirts and hold up signs reading “CONTEST TODAY” outside the store. (I certainly won’t want to overlook any curious roadside passerby.)

Since this is the third in a series of articles detailing my all-day Switch ‘N’ Shoot tournament, it would behoove me to toss in a little more context here in the final stretch. This article, titled “Play Switch ‘N’ Shoot to Win Groovy Kaiju Music,” will give you a baseline overview of what’ll happen on August 2nd. My other article, “All-Day Switch ‘N’ Shoot Tournament Q&A,” will undoubtedly fill in any gaps from there.

Culture matters to me; community matters to me. That’s why I’ve partnered with an indie musician; that’s why I’m organizing a tournament. I guess, at the end of the day, I want Wilcox Arcade to give people something to do in western Kentucky. Is it working yet?

Long story short, I highly recommend you swing by the all-day Switch ‘N’ Shoot tournament on Saturday, August 2nd — happening at Know-a-Guy in Murray, Kentucky. People have really been enjoying Switch ‘N’ Shoot lately, so this is my attempt at keeping the momentum going.

To ensure you’ll hear any and all Wilcox Arcade updates between now and then, follow my company on Instagram or Facebook. I’m always conjuring up some scheme or another.
