My Latest Commercial is for Arcade Online by ArcadeXR

Those of you who have been following my recent endeavors may recall in July when I published to YouTube a 30-second commercial for Newcade, a four-player arcade cabinet allowing users to join from their homes amid real-life, on-location games.

Because making commercials is legitimate passion of mine, I’ve already cranked out the latest one – and coincidentally, it’s for a very similar product.

Arcade Online is a service by ArcadeXR enabling anyone to engage with real claw machines, quick play, and coin pushers anytime, anywhere, simply by visiting the website via one’s smartphone tablet, or computer.

While my financée is more so a fan of such machines than I am – considering I prefer traditional video games – what I enjoyed about this project was the opportunity to actually employ my videography skills. Said fiancée is the focal point of all the still I chopped up and composited for the sake of this commercial.

I also tried to conjure something “smooth” and “sleek,” adhering very closely to modern motion graphics standards. This was an exciting challenge for me because I generally lean toward glossy, three-dimensional graphics when it comes to advertising. Less is hardly ever more in my eyes.

The final overarching goal with this project was to captivate the TikTok generation. That’s why I created the specific transitions I did: Those zooms are seemingly quite popular on the platform. At the end of the day, Arcade Online is a product young people will like, and I want to ensure they won’t overlook my video covering it.

Overall, I’m pretty dang tickled with how this commercial turned out, though I’ll admit I spent longer on it than I reasonably should have. Sometimes, my ambition outpaces my schedule – to the point that I legitimately haven’t finished moving into my house after several weeks.

I wouldn’t change anything for the world, though, and I hope y’all like what you see. If you’d like a Wilcox Arcade commercial of your own, reach out to wilcoxarcade@gmail.com or call me at 270-484-8161.

Keep it real, ya sweaty nerds.
