Wilcox Arcade Coming to Venture River Water Park

Wilcox Arcade bulk vending machines will arrive at Venture River Water Park this summer.
That’s right: I’m expanding my route into Eddyville, Kentucky. More specifically, I plan to place in the gift shop a couple of coin-operated sticker and tattoo machines.
As you may know, video games have always been my strongest passion, yet bulk vending has remained a fiery contender for second place. I appreciate that it’s purely transactional. (In other words, the math is easy when purchasing products, and I’m never ripping off my patrons.)
This particular opportunity at Venture River arose last summer, following my part-time stint at the park. Although I had started working there to spend more time with my fiancée, I very quickly came to grips with the sheer number of people trickling into that gift shop, realizing I’d be foolish not to plant my flag there.
Luckily for me, owner Andrea York was on board, so I spent the ensuing months stocking up for this year. I went with a Rhino bulk vending machine, considering it’s my favorite brand besides Northwestern. As for the stickers, I figured Bluey characters, colorful axolotls, and summer iconography would resonate with the existing customer base.
Tattoos are oncoming, though I haven’t decided which ones yet. Either way, I’m excited to not only work another summer at Venture River but to also be one of its official vendors. (Yep, I’m bumping elbows with Pepsi MidAmerica. Talk about progress.)
But I jest: I don’t take this deal lightly, nor do I view people as numbers. I’m stoked most of all just to bring more joy into the world, even if I can’t offer actual video games.
If all goes well, I’m hoping I can slide some mint gum machines into the park, too. That, to me, would seem like a pleasant convenience by the food counters. But hey, only time will tell what else is possible when it comes to water parks.
